Festivalimpressions 2013 - Guests Monday to Wednesday

Daniela Parr - The Mosuo in China

Festival director Irene Jung and film director Daniela Parr give an introduction to the three films on the nonviolent matriarchal Mosuo in China, a centerpiece of the International Day “NO to violence against women” , also a contrast to the movies on extreme violence against women that were shown in the movie theater that day.

Daniela Parr talks about her discoveries and experiences, that she made on her journey to China in 2012 and how fascinated she was by a nonviolent society.

A surprising number of viewers have come, to get to know more about the Mosuo in pictures and from first-hand experience. Afterwards they have many questions to ask about what seems from our culture to be an extremely exotic society.

Patricia Lewandowska and Natalia Imaz - „Status of Life“

Producer Natalia Imaz and film director Patricia Lewandowska give an introduction to their film “Status of Life”, about courageous and joyous women in their everyday fight for survival against HIV in Africa and lead a discussion with the audience afterwards…

… they are joined by Dr. Gisela Schneider, head of the German Institute for Medical Mission, who is sharing her practical experiences in the fight against HIV in Africa.

Mohamed Nabil

Also Mohamed Nabil is presenting his film “Jewels of Grief” about single mothers in Morocco in the movie theater and has an exchange with the audience afterwards.

The guests in the city

Director Patricia Lewandowska has a lot to share at the lunch they have together…

… as does Mohamed Nabil, director of “Jewels of Grief”.

Afterwards they discover the city center – Patricia and Natalia have a tete-a-tete at the castle Hohentübingen…

… and find their way to the market square for the obligatory souvenir picture with Mohamed and team members Nicole and Cathrin.
