Director of TERRE DES FEMMES, Christa Stolle, talks about the work in Berlin and the progresses of the past year, for instance that Female Genital Mutilation has been included in the medical diagnostic codes, or that during the campaign for victims of forced prostitution, 45.921 signatures were handed over…

…. and mayor Boris Palmer congratulates her on her recently received Federal Cross of Merit

Last introductory words before the film: Roman Paul, producer of the opening movie “Wadjda” explains, how it came about that he joined in on this “project that almost seemed impossible”: the first feature film ever shot in Saudi Arabia, on top of that shot by a woman! And that the director is glad that a hopeful movie was the result.

The team, that worked very hard, is awarded with applause.

Conversation with the audience after the opening movie: Roman Paul faces the interested questions from the audience on the perspectives for women in Saudi Arabia – not only to shoot a movie as a woman, but also to take part in public life and be able to work in different occupations.

A successful 2013 opening, the audience is thrilled.
